About Agesic

EdTech | Uruguay

Agesic is an Agency of e-Government and Information and Knowledge Society from Uruguay, a public organization that improves citizens’ lives with services that take advantage of the ICT.

Agesic is one of the organizations that handled the implementation of the first-ever “one laptop per child” plan, making history back in 2007 with the Ceibal Plan. The acronym “Ceibal” translated in English stands for Basic Informatic Educative Connectivity for Online Learning. This plan started with the vision of providing every grade school student and teacher in Uruguay with a laptop connected to the internet.

The Challenge

The client is continually working on new technology-related projects, in this case, they wanted to add 2 educational games for kids and teenagers to raise awareness in 2 cyber-security issues:

· Being aware of the consequences that may bring sharing information online
· Password security: why it’s important and how to make it safer

What we did

We helped our partners from Octobot, working in an international interdisciplinary team. The wireframes were provided by the client and we took care of the front-end and back-end of the games.

Results & Takeaways

These games will be educating children from all over the country through the Ceibal plan, but they will also be available for public usage through the Agesic website helping new generations to prevent cyber-security problems in a fun way.
